Before Novu, Vitruvi relied on a lightweight internal system that only covered a few critical use cases. “We had basic utility methods for push and some emails, but nothing centralized,” said David Buss, Technical Lead. As their user needs expanded, especially with configurable scripts and mobile-first workflows, they realized they needed a more scalable approach.

The team evaluated multiple vendors and even considered building a new system in-house. But Novu stood out for its flexibility, EU-based data hosting (a must-have for compliance), and cost efficiency.

Vitruvi’s implementation process was fast and lean. Three engineers integrated Novu into their internal event tracking system, and now the workflows run reliably across push, in-app, and email. The impact was immediate: notifications became one of the most-used features in the product in under two months. “It had the highest uptick in usability we’ve seen in years,” David noted.

Today, notifications are embedded in the mobile app, with deep links and role-specific delivery logic. PMs submit requests, and developers onboard new workflows with minimal effort.
