Tenderd is a fast-growing B2B IoT platform operating across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Nigeria. Their core product tracks heavy machinery on construction sites, using IoT sensors to surface insights on productivity, emissions, safety, and optimization.
In such a high-stakes environment, real-time communication is critical. Notifications play a vital role in both driving user engagement and improving safety. From informing users when machinery has arrived at a worksite, to alerting teams about crashes, proximity hazards, or entry into restricted areas, Tenderd relies on notifications to keep operations running smoothly.
Before Novu, the team maintained a custom-built notification system using Node.js, SMTP, and internal tooling. While functional, it required significant engineering time and overhead. After moving to Novu, Tenderd was able to shift to a more scalable, low-maintenance solution.

Today, Tenderd uses Novu to power the majority of their notifications. Over 90% of which are fully automated and triggered by IoT data. While the engineering team implements the logic, requirements are owned by Product. Tenderd is currently in transition to Novu's V2 dashboard and template system, which has already improved the dev experience significantly. They also plan to introduce WhatsApp as a notification channel for mobile users.
Internally, Novu saves the engineering team time on implementation, templating, and rollout. "It’s very easy to make adjustments and promote changes to production," said Rick. While they’re just starting to explore analytics and engagement metrics, Novu’s notification infrastructure is already enabling fast, data-driven action across Tenderd’s operations.
