Overview

Telegram is a messaging platform that supports bots, rich messages, and interactive actions. Novu Connect lets your existing agent communicate through Telegram without requiring you to build and operate a separate Telegram bot integration.

How it works

Novu Connect receives Telegram messages and replies, retains their conversation context, and sends them to your agent. Agent responses return to the correct chat with support for Markdown-rich messages, inline buttons, quick actions, typing indicators, read states, and messages that update in place.

Configure

From your agent project, run:

npx novu connect --channel telegram

Create the Telegram bot in BotFather, then complete the setup link or QR-code flow provided by the CLI. Enter the bot token only in the CLI flow.
